So im currently a college student but ill be going into the marketing industry once im finished. I tend to be quite proactive with my future and want to be in the best position i can be in once i start looking for positions.

Lots of people seem to say that having a portfolio can be quite helpful in a job hunt. However, naturally, i dont really have any experience and its hard to get any, without, well without a portfolio.

So im wondering would making up mock posters and websites be a benefit to me as opposed to going into interviews with nothing but a degree to my name?

But basically i want to know is an employer even going to value that work when its not for an actual client so there is no way to really measure ‘success’ or ‘client satisfaction’.
